Privacy

1. Privacy at a glance

This notice describes how personal data is processed when you visit this website or contact me. Personal data is information that can identify you.

This website uses no analytics or marketing services. It does not load external fonts, embedded social networks or external videos.

3. GitHub Pages hosting

This website is delivered through GitHub Pages. GitHub processes technical access data, including IP addresses and request information, to deliver and secure its service. The legal basis for website delivery is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in a secure, reliable website.

GitHub may process data internationally. Its privacy statement describes responsible entities, recipients, transfer mechanisms and retention. The former Strato hosting section does not apply to this GitHub Pages website.

4. Contact form, email and telephone

When you submit the contact form, your details are transmitted in encrypted form to an automation application (n8n): topic, language, email address and message, plus name and company if provided. To block automated submissions, a field invisible to people and the time between loading the form and submitting it are also transmitted. n8n and the NocoDB database run on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.

The enquiry is stored in the database and forwarded to me by email. Email sending and the mailbox are provided by mailbox.org (Heinlein Hosting GmbH, Berlin).

You receive an automatic acknowledgement at the email address provided. In addition, the topic, language and message – not your name, company or email address – are sent to the Inference API of Hetzner Online GmbH, where a language model (Qwen) drafts my personal reply. According to Hetzner, the content of these requests is not stored. I receive the draft for review together with the topic, language, your name and the text of your message via the Telegram messenger service; your company and email address are not transmitted. Telegram may process this data outside the European Union. The reply is only sent after I have reviewed, if necessary edited and approved it; nothing is sent automatically without my approval. Enquiries recognised as advertising or automated are not answered and are deleted automatically after 30 days.

When you contact me by email or telephone, I process the information you provide, such as name, contact details, company and project context, to handle the enquiry and follow-up questions. Please avoid sensitive details that are unnecessary for an initial project enquiry.

Enquiries concerning a contract or pre-contractual measures are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other enquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on the legitimate interest in effective communication.

Enquiries stored via the form and emails are deleted when the matter is concluded and there is no other reason to retain them. Statutory retention obligations remain applicable. The automation does not keep execution logs containing form content. Your data is not used for advertising without an appropriate legal basis.

5. Cookies, analytics and external links

The website itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics, marketing or tracking services. No external content requiring consent is embedded. Fonts and images are served with the website.

LinkedIn and other external destinations are ordinary links. Their privacy policies apply when you open them.

6. Your rights

Subject to the statutory conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18) and portability (Article 20). If processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time for future processing.

Where data is processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object under Article 21 on grounds relating to your particular situation. Processing will stop following a justified objection unless overriding compelling grounds or legal claims apply.

You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. The Baden-Württemberg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information is a relevant authority for this location.

7. Security and communication

This website is delivered over encrypted HTTPS. Email communication can still present security risks; complete confidentiality of every transmission cannot be guaranteed.

This website does not carry out automated decision-making or profiling. Unsolicited advertising to the published contact details is not permitted.
